New installation of Exchange 2010. Problems with Outlook Clients.

I have Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 with Exchange Server 2010. Currently OWA works fine. Outlook clients get the error below when trying to connect:

Cannot open your default email folders. You must connect to microsoft
exchange with the current profile before you can syncronise your folders with
your offline folder file.

This does not appear to be related to the workstations as I have tested the workstations with other Exchange Servers (Server 2003 and 2007).

I have deleted the outlook profile via control panel and tried again.
I have rebooted the computer and tried again.
I have tried enabling encryption in Outlook.

It looks to me like a security issue with the Exchange Server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is now holding up a new rollout.

The Exchange Server is a member of a DAG with one other server.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. in the exchange server name are you specifying the CAS server or the mailbox server ?

do you have more than one server ?

Problems using Powershell and Active Directory?

Managing Active Directory does not always have to be complicated.  If you are spending more time trying instead of doing, then it's time to look at something else. For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why

I have been using both server names as both servers in the DAG are setup with the same roles. I think something in the client access role is not set correctly.

can you please give me a better idea about your setup?

how many servers and roles on each ?

if owa is working there is no reason to believe that CAS is not working

We have two Exchange 2010 servers on Server 2008 R2. Both are connected in a DAG. Default Mailbox, Client Access and Hub transport roles are installed. I cannot understand why Oulook, of any version, cannot connect. I know I have missed something silly somewhere.

in outlook you should give the name of one of the servers and not the DAG name.

also check the event logs any relevant error ?

One other possibility . . .

Since the servers were setup the IP address and subnet of the network has been changed. Not sure of this may have affected anything. Did not try to connect Outlook before the IP change. All DNS etc has been updated accordingly.
