How configure smarthost connector in an Exchange cross-org migration ?

Hi,

I'm doing a cross-org Exchange migration.

Source forest/domain is AD2003 with EXCH2K7 (DOMOLD.LAN)

Target forest/domain is AD2008 with EXCH2K7 (DOMNEW.LAN)

both ADMT and cross-org mailbox migrations are working fine

My problem is in exchange routing messages : the public smtp domain is the same in the 2 forest : mydomain.net

How can i route messages from EXCH2K7.DOMOLD.LAN to EXCH2K7.DOMNEW.LAN for the same SMTP domain, during the migration phase when my users are located both in the source and the target domain for internal email communication purposes ?

Hope you'll understand what i say

Thanks for your responses

During migration

1) In the accepted domains you need to set your email domain as external relay and not as authoritative
2) create on each an send connector with a cost of 1 an with your smtp domain as address space, set thiis connector to use the other exchange server as smarthost relay

Thanks for response.

In your first remark, must I configure it on both source and target server ? I imagine both.

How can i synchronize Global Access Lists ? In my case, it is a Exch2K7 to Exch2K7 inter forest migration, so I cannot use IIFP to synchronize GALs. Any idea ?
