problem turning apache with xampp

hi
when i open the controll panel and press the mysql button and i get the running message.
whrn i press the apache button i do not get the running message, even though at the bottom it say: started.

i cannot connect to my localhost.

2 days ago all worked.

any idea?

i fixed the problem.

if anyone else getting this situation.
1- go to xampp/apache/logs/error and see what is the problem.
2- for me it was that the port is not free (even though it say free when you check port in the controll panel).

i traced the program that used the port and in my case i just deleted it cause i do not need it).

now it all works again.

Pls print what is the output for the below command

run this in command prompt:

netstat -a

Open the XAMPP control panel.

shutdown the apache,
Click on the post-check button..

See the output if you find the port 80, being captured or not. since your apache is stopped, it should free.
