table center with css

Need to align a table in the center, and put some css elements inside. I'm using the align, and  in internet explorer works fine, but in firefox and chrome align to the left.

@shinuq:  There is no attribute float:center.
The proper attributes of float are:
  • left
  • right
  • none
  • inherit

@shinuq:
Please try not to use the <center> tag as it is depreciated and not supported by browsers, like IE

If you're using this table for layout, that's a bad idea - you 'd likely be better off using a <div> and applying your styles to that. Tables are meant for tabular data, not styling a page.

In any case, if this is a fixed width table or div (i.e. a width defined), you should be able to do margin: 0 auto;
