Setting up FTP Share in Server 2008 R2

Hi all,

Have a copy of Server 2008 R2 Datacenter running fully updated etc.

Have installed FTP role with all the ticks in all the boxes and havent left anything out. the issue I am having is that after I go through the "ADD FTP SITE..." I complete the wizard but cannot browse my ftp share using internet explorer.  I Have tried my internal and external IP address, etc etc but just get page cannot be displayed. Also when I type FTP LOCALHOST into a cmd prompt it just says "Connection closed by remote host".

Can anyone help with this at all or advise me of a setting i need to configure?

Thanks

Make sure your firewall has enabled the FTP protocol to pass through.

Has Powershell sent you back into the Stone Age?

If managing Active Directory using Windows Powershell® is making you feel like you stepped back in time, you are not alone.  For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why.

I have set up IIS  and FTP. I then click on ADD FTP site and point to my files. Im pretty sure I have everything installed however cannot browse to my site via Intenet Explorer.

There must be a way to display your files in IE8 like i have always normally done. What is different about 2008 R2???
