Can't change paper type on tray for HP LaserJet M3035

My tray seems to be stuck on A4 paper size.  When I go into the web interface to change it, where a drop down box should be to change the size, it simply lists A4.  Is there another way to change it?

I'm not sure. Have you tried a hard reset of the printer? And if so, did the printer come hardwired for A4?

A printer gets its commands from a driver. Have you tried reinstalling / upgrading the printer driver ? That is the first place I would look. ... Thinkpads_User

The driver lists Letter size like it should.  We have other models of this printer and I can change the paper type in the web interface.  Currently when they go to print, they have to walk up to the printer to ok out using the paper in the printer (81/2x11) because it is looking for the A4.

On the web interface, the paper type for drawer 2 seems stuck on A4.  Thoughts?

No it didn't come hardwired for A4. I haven't tried the hard reset yet simply because the printer is in a remote location with people that wouldn't know how to reprogram it.  I would have to try to get someone there that knows a little something about computers and printers first.

With most LaserJet printers, the paper SIZE in each cassette tray is detected automatically by sensors which are triggewred by the positiojn of the width and length paper guides.

With such printers, the size can't be changed programatically, since it depends on physical/mechanical settings.

Biut perhaps some of the cheaper printers no longer have such sensors, and so have to be told what paper SIZE is in each tray; no idea whether or not this applies to your M3035 printer.

... but paper TYPE (e.g. Plain, Letterhead, Prepunched, Transparency), which is a separate attribute to paper SIZE, does have to be set manually (via printer front panel menus, or Embedded Web Server equivalent).

Well, the tech got down there only to see that the printer changed the type from A4 to Letter somehow (no idea how).  Printer is working.  I'm going to give out points to those that tried to help.  Many thanks.
