Greater Than Less Than

I am trying to figure out a formula for greater than less then in Crystal.  Here is what I need not sure how to do it in crystals

If family size="1" and yearly amt <$14000 then "Extremely Low" else
if family size = 1 and yearly amt >14300 <23850 then "Low"

Crystal will not let me use the second line of this formula.  It says that I need a then statement between the greater and less sign.  Is there another way to write this statement?

Try the following

If family size=1 and yearly_amt <14000 then "Extremely Low"
if family size = 1 and yearly_amt >14300 and yearly_amt  <23850 then "Low"

another option would be : yearly_amount in 14300 to 23850
Anither way would be

If {FamilySizeField} = 1 then
    If {YearlyIncomeField} < 14000 then
        "Extremely Low"
    Else If {YearlyIncomeField} < 23850 then
    Else ETC
Else If {FamilySizeField} = 2 then
Tests for family 2
Else ETC
