need to delete a mailbox in exchange 2007, when the user has already been removed in AD

Hi, i have an exchange 07 on a windows 08 server.
I stupidly removed a user in the AD with out doing it in exchange. I go to remove the mailbox in exchange and it says: -

error
the operation could not be performed because object domain.com/users/usename could not be found on domain controller e2007.domain.

any ideas how to remove the mailbox.

thanks

Here is a guess....run Clean-Mailboxdatabase then attempt to remove.

The hope is when you run Clean-Mailboxdatabase it will move this users mailbox into the Disconnected Mailbox container.
