Riverbed Test Plan - WHat did you do?

We are looking to implement Riverbes Steelheads.  We are working on putting together a good test plan for our trial.
Does anyone have such a plan they could shre or recommend what we should test?

Thank you.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Copy a file across the WAN.  Plug in the Riverbeds, copy again (cold copy test).  Copy same file again (warmed copy test).

Test performance of any system critical applications.

Set up network monitor, establish WAN utilization baseline (pre-Riverbed), establish WAN utlization (post-Riverbed).

That should give you a good idea.

I used Riverbeds in an enterprise environment for 6 years now.  They are AWESOME.

RPPreacher is correct . . . the only thing I would add would require a way of inducing load and errors on the network. It's remarkable what happens with WAN optimization and only a .05% error rate.

Good luck,
