MYSQL Database hostname / Database Path

Hello,

Really vague question time.  I apologize for that in advance.

I am installing Joomla onto a web server that I am renting from Surpass Hosting.  I created a mysql database, and have:
Database Name: db_name
User Name: u_name
Password: p_word
Linux/Apache

When I go to install Joomla, it asks me for my user name, password, database name, and finally the hostname.

My question is - how do I tell what my database host name is?   This value is normally "localhost" for a local machine, and some hosting companies will provider you the exact path to the db such a godaddy, but I cannot find this information anywhere.

Do I simply enter my dedicated server IP address?  Thoughts?  Thanks in advance!

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
