Image deskew

Dear Experts,

I would like to use pamtilt to deskew my scanned images.

http://netpbm.sourceforge.net/doc/pamtilt.html

But I don't seem to have the necessary software installed on my system.  How do I install this?

I have CentOS 5.4

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try the following, this should install pamtilt for you.

From a command prompt type the following.

yum install netpbm netpbm-progs

That will install the pamtilit utility under /usr/bin/pamtilt

I've already tried that, but I have no pamtilt under /usr/bin

I'm restarting the server, just in case...

ah you only have half of the app installed.

run the following and then you will have it.

yum install netpbm-progs    (note not netpbm as you've already done, there are 2 parts)

I was fairly sure I had already done that, but I will not be able to check until Tuesday.

Pretty sure that will sort it.  If it had been installed the rpm -qa|grep netpbm will have listed 2 entries.  I double checked this on my server.  Come Tuesday you should be working fine.
