word opening in background when choosing new doc  cpublished app

when a user opens the published app (PN)  word opens as expected but when they choose a new doc it opens in background

any ideas on how to fix?

This is a very common problem in Office 2003 .. You need to set the focus back on the word and then open a new document... otherwise re-install...office.

Curious what Rollup are you running?  I know there were a lot of "focus" issues with office and some where fixed with a Rollup.  Although I thought they only affected Office 2007.  Depends what Rollup you're on and doing some checking.
