netbeans and XDebug

I have xdebug on my remotely hosted server. I don't know how to configure the netbeans part to talk to it. Can any one point me in the right direction as i am now quite desperate!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I'm guessing you've already been to this page:

(which does briefly mention remote debugging

I have to ask, can't you develop your code locally, and only upload it to the remote server once it's finished and unit tested?

Unfortunately I have, but that only seems to apply to local development. Unfortunately my situation is that I have a large cumbersome application that I need to debug in situ. So I would like to be able to do this remotely, as I *REALLY* don't fancy trying to move the entire code to local dev.

I'm afraid I can't find anything useful on configuring Netbeans for this.

I will say, though, that I do recommend moving the code to a local (or at least non-public test) server. It's amazing how easy it is to change something in live code and not realise for days that it's doing something very different than what you expect.

Good luck, whichever approach you take.
Oh, and just in case, this looks promising:
