Outlook not finding contacts of known contacts in list

* When I type  a known name into my “to” field  of an email message it does not always populate the email address even when I confirm the person is in my contacts
* When I select “Contacts “ form within the “to” selection box it shows blank.
* When I select Contacts from the menu bar it is full of my contacts

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

There's an easy fix for this, but I don't have a copy of Outlook at work to walk you through it.
What you need to do is go into your address book, and there is a place to select which "Contacts" is your default contacts so that this list is the first to be pulled up.

When I get home, I can post some screen shots.
