.NET Projects moved to Windows 7 Not Working

I just got a new computer at work. My old machine was Windows XP, my new machine is Windows 7. I installed Visual Studio 2005 on the new machine and had to apply the appropriate service packs so it would run on Windows 7.

I opened an existing Web solution and tried to bulid it but received many errors. Most of them I have fixed by delete old references and readding them. But I am still receive an error that I cannot fix. Here is the error:

Unable to create type 'ajaxToolkit:ValidatorCalloutExtender'. Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. C:\inetpub\Layred Examples\Web Site\EmailFriend.aspx

So, I'm not sure if the problem lies in the ajaxToolkit or the System.Web.Extensions.

I've deleted the <assembly> entry for System.Web.Extensions in my web.config file and did an "Add Reference" to readd the System.Web.Extensions. But that didnt' do it.

I also opened the EmailFriend.aspx.cs file where i have "using AjaxControlToolkit" and I am able to access the ValidatorCalloutExtender with no problems.

What do I need to do to get this working again?

Have you installed the Ajax Library and the toolkit?
infotechelgAuthor Commented:
i did, but there's no .exe file to install it; only three folders: AspNetAjaxBetaSamples, Scripts, WebForms. I thought there was an installer on www.asp.net for ajax, but that doesn't seem to exist anymore.

I think everything is installed. I mean, if it wasn't, IntelliSense wouldn't pickup AjaxControlToolkit.* would it?

Now I'm getting this error:

"The type 'System.Web.UI.ServiceReferenceCollection' exists in both 'c:\Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Web.Extensions\1.0.61025.0__31bf3856ad364e35\System.Web.Extensions.dll' and 'c:\Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Web.Extensions\\System.Web.Extensions.dll'      c:\Users\jcapp\AppData\Local\Temp\Temporary ASP.NET Files\tech lighting\e12db316\75b66e58\App_Web_dip78r7r.2.cs      423"

I went to the c:\Windows\assembly folder and there is no GAC_MSIL folder.

Never mind. I fixed it by changing the version number.
