Installing PHP with ColdFusion 9 and IIS

I have already installed ColdFsuion 9 on my laptop running IIS and Windows XP pro. I need to install PHP too in order to do some PHP projects. How do you go about doing that while keeping ColdFsuion running too.

PHP will run on the same server as ColdFusion. They do interact easily enough although it is n ot usual to have both installed. Here is a discussion of that very thing:

is there anything you have to update so localhost will find the php file?

No just put the file in the 'www' directory and it should find it ok. Then type in 'localhost/info.php'

You will need to add the php handler mappings into IIS7 if you have not done so and did the install manually. I believe the MSI installer will do this automatically but honestly i'm not sure. Adding the mappings at the root level of the IIS7 server will let them propagate down to all the site you have running to make it easier.

As far as running side by side, IIS will hand off the requests to the different interpreters (php.exe for php and jrun.exe for cold fusion) depending on the handler mappings you have setup.
