unbinding and rebinding a click event in jquery

im trying to ubind a click event to a link then rebind it later my efforts are futile how do go about accomplishing this with the jquery javascript library.

bind : $('#bindornottobind').bind('click',function() { helo(); });
unbind : $('#bindornottobind').unbind('click');
