How to get classic view for Google in Internet explorer

Hello, I am helping someone who just bought a new laptop. When they start internet explorer the default page is Google which is what we want. However the default page is not the simple classic view, but the designer google page that allows people to customize the look of the page.

This is annoying to the laptop user because she would like for the defualt google page to be in classic view. How can this be done? There is a hyperlink in the upper right hand corner that says "Classic View". That will make the page go into classic view, but not permanently. How can we make the default google page to permanently be in "Classic" view?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

all you have to do is tools > internet options
set their homepage to http://www.google.com

right now it's some junk like, http://dell.google.com or http://www.google.com/hp  ... or even the iGoogle page... just set it as above

If it is the iGoogle page, click Classic Home in the top right, next to email address, Settings, and Sign Out.
If your choice does not hold for next session, try clearing your cookies and temp files. It is supposed to save your choice. Mine does--just tested.
