telnet problem with hp printer

It seems I can't telnet to one of the hp printer named hp laser jet 4000..I would like to close the FTP service over the telnet
I get the followin message
Connecting To 192.168.xx.xx...Could not open connection to the host, on port 23:
Connect failed..
I can telnet other hp printers over the telnet..what should we do?

that would indicate that the printer in question does not support telnet.

if you are looking to close the FTP service, is the service running on that printer?
also, if you browse the printer, can you see what services are running on it that way?

Telnet: connecting to IP Could not open connection to the host, on port 23: Connect failed:
you CANNOT telnet to a windows-only printer, period.  Telnet is a system level interface at the OS-DOS level, and windows-only printers cannot interact with anything but the WIN GUI that recognizes their drivers, designed for the windows DLL calls.  If this printer is a windows only one, you can't telnet to it.
