Troubleshooting Synergy errors
I have a Vista machine hosting Synergy. I'm connecting to it from a Macbook, which is using Synergy KM. I did an update to Vista and that wiped out many of my configurations - cookies, Start menu items, etc. I now can't connect to the Vista machine from the Macbook (OS X 10.6.3). When I go into the SynergyKM preference and click the "Open Log File" button, I get this error:
The operation couldn't be completed because an error occurred:
(MacOS Error code: -116)
In the About tab, I see this:
Status: Error: 'Unknown screen name Macbook-2'
In the Server Configurations tab, I have 192.168.0.3 and Macbook for the screen names.
Does anyone have some suggestions on how I can fix it?

Far as I know, there is only one synergy. Vista firewall is off. This use to work fine. I went on vacation for a week, came back and did a Windows update. It hasn't worked since. The Windows update also cleared out all of my settings, such as cookies, programs in start menu, etc.
Is your user profile corrupt? Sounds that way.

You mean the OS profile? Not if Synergy is the only thing having issues.
Where is the synergy config file stored? Maybe I can remove the Macbook-2 entry from there.

The config. is in different places, depending on what platform you are running.

I definitely don't see a Macbook-2 in there either. Where would it be getting that name?
I would think 'Macbook-2' comes as a default name for a configuration that already exists and has been created again.

Do you know where I can find it?

I did a full file content search across my Macbook but didn't see anything. Thanks.
It makes no mention of Vista.
Try again with the Vista firewall turned off.
