SQL Server first time login fails

I have Windows 7 and I have just downloaded SQL Server on my local machine and it is giving me bizarre problem. I have successfully loaded everything on it. It is set to have mixed mode login which allows me to login with both my SQL Server account  and the Windows account but when i tried to first time to  login with these usernames then it gave me two different errors. While trying to do it with Windows Login it gave me following error:

"Unable to cast COM Objetct of type "System.COMObject to interface type Microsoft.Visual studio .Ole.InterOP.ISServices.  I am not sure what exactly is wrong with that.

Now, while I try to do the same thing with SQL Server account then I face the following error:

"No process on the other end of the pipe; Error code 233"

i am not sure whether its my machine configuration or this is the set up ot may be something wrong with SSMS it self?

Since you are using Windows 7, SP3 for SQL Server 2005 and SP1 for SQL Server 2008 is mandatory and confirm whether you have applied that or not..

If you have skipped Account Provisioning tool, then Right Click SSMS or BIDS and choose Run as Administrator which should work..

Also check whether Remote connections are enabled properly in that machine or not..

Ok guys. I have installed SP1 on my system and now it does not give me the old error bu tnow it came up with some another error which says that

"network related instance specific error occurred. Make sure you have access to the server or the server exists". Now I am not sure why does it do that because i am running it on a local machine. Why should it do that?

>> Make sure you have access to the server or the server exists

Make sure SQL Server service is up and running.
Also right click SSMS and choose Run as Administrator and try out..

Hello there,

If you have installed SQL server using domain account and trying to login as local user account, might have SSPI context problem.

Try the following,

Goto control panel, Administrative Tools, Services
Look for SQL server service, double click and goto Logon Panel
Try to put username and password of the local administrative account.

You should be ready to go. Please do let me know

Cheers

Please do let us know the error message and the number as well.
I guess, if you are not able to start the service, the SQL server installation might have failed. Also try installing one more time.

Cheers

There is good news experts. I have loaded SQL Server management studio and now it works fine and now I am able to login. Actually, along with loading the SSMS again I have loaded the Windows again with new installation.
My windows was actually behaving very badly and I thought that there is something which has changed my registry values. So I re-loaded both operating system and SSMS and now its working fine.
I am not sure what the problem was but I think may be there was something wrong with my operaing system.
Thank you very much for the help guys :).
