VMWare View and SQL server

Hello all,

Another (hopefully) quick question regarding VMWare View.  I see on the requirements that View does require SQL server.  It can be express, standard, or enterprise.  My question is what are the cutoffs?  In other words, what environments are ok with SQL express (based on number of users and desktops) and then when is it recommended to go to SQL standard then SQL enterprise.

Thank you for your help and Happy Easter again,

The use of express version depends on the amount data your are collecting. But if you have a big desktop farm, 500 desktops or above SQL server is the way to go.

We have  a farm with around 1100 desktops and SQL 2005 standard is working fine till now.

I only configure express in a test environment. As you stated in your previous post you are looking to do this as a VM (for your broker server).  If this is the case then you're stuck with windows authentication vs sql authentication that makes your DB transportable.
