sony vaio wireless keyboard malfunction

vgp-wkb5us sony keyboard was working fine for a year and suddenly only the sleep button functions - so rf link is there but all other keys do not send signal
Tried safe mode, restored to earlier point a month ago, replaced batteries, removed devices and reinitialized drivers, (could not find newer drivers than 2006 ones that are there) obviously keyboard is connected or sleep button would not work flawlessly as it does. Is there a way to reset firmware in keyboard??  or what hardware malfunction would cause this anomaly

Keyboard or driver/setup issue. To find out, try it on another PC.

good idea but how do i do that - i have a half dozen pc's but none have a built in wireless keyboard communications device - im not sure if this is 2.5 Ghz or bluetooth or what. do you know how i can get a device to add thru a usb port that could work with a wireless keypad made by sony? is their a standard on this type of device?
thank you for you comment

OK, my mistake. I saw a pic which I took to show a usb receiver. Been looking, but can't work out how it communicates. Likely bluetooth, if you have something bluetooth enabled, you could try to discover it. I presume it has a connect button? Check underneath, it may give some indication of what it is up to.

Good luck

uses 2.5 ghz i found out after taking keyboard apart
all top special silver keys for volume and standby and s1 s2 s3 work
appears to be unable to send data for lower keyboard area
im thinking a single stuck key would cause this but no keys are stuck
looks like a short on the keyboard since i dont have another way to test a keyboard without a 2.5 ghz transceiver which are not too common except for sony i guess

almost need to talk to someone that actually has had the problem before but no luck on that
thanks for helping and if no answers come in will award points to you for trying
