Sony Vaio docking station no Ethernet connection

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-Z11MN and use a docking station. I have just run a long Ethernet cable to my router (I have been using wireless as the router is in another room) but it only works if I plug it directly into the laptop. If I use the docking station connection there is no connectivity. My three network drivers are: Intel 82567LM Gigabit Network connection, Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN and Marvell Yukon 88E8055 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller. I currently have the wireless switched off. All other aspects of the docking station are working fine.

IanTh - how can I check it? I have had the docking station for about 18 months but never used the network port before. One thing I forgot to mention is I have upgraded the laptop to Windows 7 from Vista!

I know this problem. Sony has this issue on many docking stations. it is something to do with drivers.
Try this remove the network card drivers and shutdown your computer put the dock in and open your computer and install the drivers. Please don't forget the download the latest drivers. if it is Intel network card try Intel's website. Sony won't update drivers generally.

kkoray, I finally was able to try your solution and it worked! The key seems to be installing the drivers while the docking station is attached.

Thanks!
