Sort Initialization Failure in SAS

Hi,
   I was wondering if there is a reason and fix for SORT Initialization in SAS ||(v 9.2) ? I am using PROC SQL and there are multiple left joins and then a last group By statement.

are you able to provide the exact error message?

and what are you trying to do exactly?

Not sure what your error is, but in your OPTIONS statement at the start of SAS, you can define the amount of SORT space that SAS uses as 0 (max).

OPTIONS SORTSIZE=0;

This will not limited SAS to a fixed amount of memory for sorting.  There are pluses an minuses to doing this, but sounds like what you are looking for.

The MEMSIZE option is one that has to be used when SAS is invoked.  It can't be set after the session has been started like the SORTSIZE option can.

Add the MEMSIZE option to the invocation command for SAS.  Set the value to 1 GB and set the SORTSIZE value to 750 MB, or 75% of the MEMSIZE value.
