"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can use one of the scripts in GPMC

http://wmug.co.uk/blogs/1972/archive/2006/05/01/39.aspx

FindUnlinkedGPOs.wsf

That will get you the GPOs not linked anywhere.

Thanks

Hello,

If you launch Group Policy Management Console (You can download from here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=0a6d4c24-8cbd-4b35-9272-dd3cbfc81887&displaylang=en)

Take a look at your OU's to see where the GPO is assigned to you will have to check each OU also under group policy objects in the management console locate and click on the group policy in question and and then click on settings to see what it does

You can also run gpresult on a workstation / server but the above method will be the easiest
