I just click download and save as <filename>.csv.  Although I'm sure I'm missing something in your question.

Problem is when i save the CSV file using IE all the comma seperated fields are shown properly in different columns.

When i save the same CSV file using Firefox and Chrome .Data in the same file shows in single field.Nt set properly in different columns.

sunny

I downloaded the one you marked as IE.csv in chrome and it worked fine.  the firefox.xls file is not an xls file so I didn't open it.  If I understand the problem correctly you are having problems downloading the IE.csv file in chrome.

I don't get it, maybe because I'm using Chrome.  but if that were the case should I get an error when I download your IE.csv?  I'm downloading in chrome and it downloads as a csv.  The firefox.xls file just seems wrong (it doesn't match the extension, is it a csv).  If it is indeed a problem with a browser than any csv file I tried to download in chrome would not work.  My bet is that if you rename firefox.xls to firefox.csv it works.  Why was it named xls to begin with?  Are yousaying that it downloaded that way even thouth the file you were downloading was a csv?  In that case it goes back to  why the file you put up as ie.csv worked for me.  It may be a setting/config in you browser.

yes it gets downloaded as XLS in FF and Chrome.

Its originally as CSV on server.

When we download the file using IE it gets downloaded automatically taking CSV extension.

But when we download the file in FF and Chrome it ignores CSV extension in file name and save it as XLS

Have you tried it on another computer?  This sounds like something that needs to be fixed on your computer.

Can you point me to the file, because I am confused since I can download ie.csv without any problems.  If you are testing on the firefox.xls file you might want to try a different file in that that particular one the contents do not match the extension.  Can you point me to a URL I can try with IE, Chrome, and firefox?
