How can I get VPN usage details in time intervals? OpenVPN Access Server (With FreeRadius)

I have setup freeradius with openvpn successfully and can authenticate users. I am receiving data in the radacct table with the start and stop session times, however the bandwidth usage is only populated once the session disconnects. I need this information to be updated in intervals so I can manage the bandwidth used by the VPN users.

Does openvpn (with freeradius) support sending Interim-Update with the accounting info? meaning updating the radacct table with user usage / session time at regular intervals (acct-interim-interval)? This is working for pptp users, just not openvpn.

On server you can retrieve info about connected clients with

cat /etc/openvpn/openvpn-status.log

thanks for the comment tty2. I need to be able to get this information on the radius server. In the OpenVPN adminstration page there is a checkbox to send accounting info to the radius server, however I cannot find a away to retrieve the bandwidth usage of connected clients before they disconnect. So I am having the problem that if I have allocated a user to have say 1gig download on the VPN, if they never disconnect then I cannot tell from how much they have downloaded. Any idea how FreeRadius can get the bandwidth usage?
I never used freeradius and cannot test it. But it seems that you need radiusplugin. Maybe this howto will be usefull:

thanks for trying to help, but OpenVPN finally got back to me and told me that it is an issue with their software. The new release they are working on apparently fixes the issue, so I will just have to wait till then.
