Apple Squirrel Mail will not forward attachments

When you forward an email with an attachment to a squirrel mail client the attachment does not show up on the squirrel mail client. I know its not an attachment problem if you send a new email with an attachment the squirrel mail client receives it.

Are you sure that when you forward, the attachment is included? Some email clients, strip out the attachment.
Could you double check that?

Yes, we can forward it to a non squirrel mail with an attachment and it wll go with the attachment.

My guess is that the way the forwarded message is enclosed, squirel mail can not extract the attachment from within the "attached' forwarded message.
I.e. if you look at the source of the message that squirrel mail receives, you may see that the forwarded message is "attached" and then further down, you see the reference to the attachment which squirrel mail can not stripout/separate.
Which version of squirrel mail is used may also explain the issue:
