Hi All,

We have our MOSS server farm in Domain A.
Now we have created one more domain B.
Our requirement is to pull the user profiles of domain B to A(MOSS server)., Through SSP by adding new domain connections, SharedServices1 > User Profile and Properties > Manage Connections .
But we are getting the folowing error while creting new connection.
The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. Please re-enter the domain name or explicitly specify the domain controller and search base.

Thanks inadvance.

This requires a change in your nameserver.

Go to the nameserver that your sharepoint server is using en create a new a-record testdc.com with the ip-address of that domaincontroller.

You could also create a stub zone.

HI wizzie83,

These are two separate domains, how can we create A record in it. It will get FQDN of current domai right.

on both domaincontrollers (the ones running dns-server) configure a stub-zone for the other domain.

start->run dnsmgmt.msc

then click new zone, as type click stub zone
enter the domainname for example testdc.com
then enter the ip-addresses for the master DNS servers.
