Desktop Disabaled by IE8

I have a New Dell PC with Windows 7 Home Premium.  Everything works fine except after using and closing IE8 all my desktop Icons are disabled.  I have to log off and log back on for them to work again.  any Ideas?

Are you receiving any error messages?
Can you tell us when was the last time your computer system was working to your satisfaction?
What anti virus are you running?

It is brand new and AVG free is the antivirus.

Create A New User From Control Panel
And Then Logon New User , Test it on New user.

AVG was the Culprit.  Uninstalled AVG and installed MS Security Essentilals in its place and all is well.
