Find IOS Upgrade for WS-C3750-48TS flash:c3750-i9-mz.121-19.EA1d

I have a stack of 3750 switches. I'm logged into the cisco website using the Software Adivisor tool trying to find my IOS update. The tool wants me to select one feature set from the options shown in the included image.

I do want one with the crypto packages. I think i should select the 3750 Catalyst EMI Crypto option. How do I find out what i'm licensed for and what i should select?

What I gather is my model number should have an S or E after it. S= SMI and E = EMI. I have neither. So i'd like your assistance. Please tell also tell me why you came to your conclusion. Thanks.

See the attached image for the options it is showing me. A show ver from the stack is shown below.

I just noticed that two minutes ago myself. So, 12.2(20)SE3 c3750-i9k91-mz.12.2-20.SE3 ?

It appears I have the SMI licensed option from the sh ver above. If I install the new IOS where do I get the SMI license from? I have the option online to download the EMI version. What happens if I download and install that?

so you got the SMI on the router in which you typed the show version command.

i9-mz in the current IOS version means you are running:

CATALYST 3750 SMI IMAGE, c3750-i9-mz.121-19.EA1.bin

i would suggest you download the latest available with the most features:

IP SERVICES

there is not  a licence file that you need to download, but i THINK you will get an error when the switch is booting up that your switch does not support the EMI software.  EMI software only provides advanced layer 3 routing options. I am pretty sure SMI 'license' is detected automatically.  I have never had to install a license when i upgraded my switches.

yeah, i went through the software advisor and it told me, 12.2(20)SE3 c3750-i9k91-mz.12.2-20.SE3, then i clicked to download and it said it was not available.

I went to the download software section and just chose the latest version available.

I'm curious. The IP Base is the entry level and IP Services offers more functions. You say to download IP Services, but don't I need to purchase a license to enable this feature?

I'm downloading the IP SERVICES
c3750-ipservicesk9-mz.122-53.SE1.bin file now.

no, there is no license needed.  in some cases the IP base and IP services require different hardware.  Like the IP services feature MAY require more memory or RAM.  in this case, you can see they both require the same amount of memory and RAM.

if you take the approach of a server admin, they usually install the OS and disable or remove unused services or use a 'hardened' version of the OS with all the unused features removed.  Same can be applied here.  Cisco will sometimes discover vulnerabilities/buge in their IOS code that will only affect switches running netflow for example.

while it is 'safer' to install the base IOS, i find it more frustrating when i discover a new feature that i may want to use is not available unless i had the ip services.  unlike a server, you can just install the new feature, you have upgrade the entire OS on the switch, during a scheduled maintenance window.
