Folder Redirect in SBS 2008

We have folder redirect activated on our SBS 2008.  Everything is working fine, however I now have a user which needs to be remote.  So, I went to the SBS console and unchecked him from the folder redirect.  Logged him in, and the system is still redirecting to the SBS.

I ran gpupdate /force and still nothing.  I need this back to default on the local PC.  Can anyone help?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

is the gpo set to keep the folders in place once you remove the gpo or move them back to the original location?
Even under your scenario I don't know that I would remove folder redirection, but would implement folder sync for remote users.
