giving a user permissions to change GAL and distribution lists exchange 2007

Hi Guys,

I have around 20 distribution lists and the GAL and i need to assign a user the rights to add and remove from all of these but i have read that adding the 'managed by' permission doesn't do this and that i have to run a shell line for each one to give them access. Is there any way i can add them to a group or something to allow them to change permissions for all in one go or do i need to do this manually and if so then how ?

Thanks

Assigning a user to be the manager in the Manage By setting as you mentioned will allow the user to make membership changes to the group through the Outlook email client.

If by EMC you mean E-Mail Client (Traditionalyrefered to as MUA-Mail User Agent) ...

To restate
i) Use Active Directory Users and Computers to assign a user account as the manager of the desired group (see fig1)
ii) Use the MAU (Outlook email client) to make membership changes to the group (fig 2) Select Tools / Address Book / {distribution group name} Properties. Click 'Modify Members' to change the users in this group.
