In addition to Blaz's comment...are you trying to ping via hostname or IP address? &nbsp;Is DNS correctly configured on the pfSense? &nbsp;Does web browsing work from behind the pfSense?

This pfsense runs as VM under vmware server 2.0.2.<br />

Internet Protocol Security (IPsec) is a protocol suite for secure Internet Protocol (IP) communications by authenticating and encrypting each IP packet of a communication session. Internet Protocol Security

The variety of Linux distributions creates myriad issues relating to configuration and operations when computers are networked, not the least of which is the use of various network management applications, some of which are included with specific distributions, while others are standalone applications.
