How to I get around MS activation when P2V a server using VMware
Hello,
I used the vmware converter on one of our servers as a test and virtualized it on our new virtualization server. The physical server was a Windows 2003 standard...I guess it must be oem but I don't remember ordering any servers with the operating system pre-installed.
Anyway - I intend to virtualize it and get rid of the other server. I also don't have a problem buying a new microsoft operating system for the server - the problem I have is that I don't want to have to rebuild that server virtually and configure it - P2V'ing will save boatloads of time in configuration.
Anyway does anywone know of a way to get around this, even if i have to purchase a new MS key? I don't think it is as simple as purchasing a Key though because there is no place to enter it....it just has the internet /telephone option.
Thanks!
