WInXP SP2 64 bit setup failed

I am trying to install windows XP Sp2 64 Bit and it is giving an error + "the updatebr.inf file is invalid"

i tried to install Sp2 by downloading a new copy from Microsoft site that too gave me the same error,

any input on this will be highly appreciated ..

P.S: this is a fresh XP and SP2 installation there is no hot fix has been installed including Windows KB942788

Try reinstalling windows installer:

Also, go back and check all the updates and uninstall the update prior to the bad update in add/remove programs "show updates" and try again

the above link does not have Sp2 64 bit windows installer contains.

Any idea what next.... ?

you have to choose this one

 WindowsServer2003-KB942288-v4-x64.exe it will work!

there is no hot fix available except 2 which says can not be remove, and those are installed by XP setup.

as fat as windows installer is concern, i download from given link and tired to install the same bit i got the same error "the updatebr.inf file is invalid"

any idea... ?
