Uninstalling Symantec Mail Security from Exchange 2003

The uninstall procedure for Symantec Mail Security for Exchange calls for turning off iis first.  Will this stop any email services/functions other than OWA?  Thanks.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

In a word, yes: The information store services is also dependent on IIS running in Exchange 2003.

IIRC, Removing Symantec Mail Security requires a reboot as well. Best to leave it for after-hours.
