What type of SSL cert do I need to use Outlook Anywhere?

I am setting up an SBS 2008 server and I'm attempting to set up Outlook Anywhere so that clients can connect from off campus.  I am not using Exchange as a main mail server - I have configured the built in POP3 Connector in SBS 2008 to grab e-mails from a POP3 server and place them in the users' Exchange mailboxes.  In other words, we have no MX records set up for this Exchange server.  Now I'd like to make it so that users are able to connect to their Exchange mailboxes using Outlook from off campus.  We were told by GoDaddy that for an Exchange server, you need a UCC SSL Cert.  Since we're not actually using it as a full blown mail server (all we need it for is Outlook Anywhere functionality), do we really need a UCC cert, or would a standard single SSL cert work for this?
