Send Fax from Network computer

I installed Windows XP Fax Services and came into one issue that I could not share that printer. So how could I send fax from the network computer? And also I already have an Fax Printer (HP3015) . Can I use it as a standby to send and receive fax in case my Fax server goes down? If yes,How can I set it up?

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

When you are asking how to send a fax from "the network computer," do you mean a computer that is on the network, but doesn't have a fax modem connected to a phone line? You can accomplish this using your HP 3015. I'll assume the HP 3015 is connected by USB cable to computer A, and you want to send a fax from computer B. When you installed the HP 3015 on A, it set up both a printer driver and a fax driver (which faxes via the HP 3015, not via a fax modem). That HP 3015 fax driver can be shared with B, just like any other printer driver. (If you've deleted the fax driver, you can reinstall it; you can get the most recent version of the driver from HP's web site at

You can make the HP 3015 a backup to your fax server by putting it on the same telephone line as the server, and having it wait for more phone rings than the server waits. Then, if the server doesn't pick up when it's supposed to, the HP 3015 will pick up automatically. There's no way to have it automatically take over an outgoing fax, but when you try to send a fax to your fax server and it's down, you should get an error message, and then you'd simply reprint the fax to the HP 3015's fax driver.

I did the same way you guided me ,but I came accros one issue that is :When I tried to printing from network computer it don't prompt me for telephone number on the client computer but it is asking for the telephone number at the Fax server computer.

How can I over come this. Means I want to send fax from client computer and it should ask the phone number on the client computer not on the server

I have another model of HP AIO, so I just tested this out. I get the same results you do. I hadn't realized that before; it seems like really poor design by HP. (I used to have a Canon AIO, whose fax driver asked all the information from the computer that sent the message, as one would logically expect.) I don't know a way to change that. I'm sorry I can't help more.
