You need to set up your email client to authenticate to your SMTP server (Exchange) for outgoing email.

1.  Start > Control Panel (Classic View) > Mail  > Email Accounts
2.  Choose the IMAP account and hit change then more settings
3.  On the Outgoing Server tab choose "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" annd "Use same settings as my incoming server"
4.  Hit OK then OK and try again.
