Using TAPI with firefox

We have a web based CRM system here and I have managed to get it to communicate with our phone system using TAPI with in IE but we have a few people in the company that refuse to use IE (one being the MD) so was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to get this working with firefox?
The phone numbers are just not clickable with in browser.  I get the same problem with Opera Chrome and Safari.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It's probably using an ActiveX control, that is not supported on Firefox and other browsers.
