RichTextBox URL Detection

In the registry I have created a new URL protocol and my forms application responds to URL commands such as hd://123456 etc on the command line and within Internet explorer. I would like a RichTextBox control to display these URLs as links but it does not appear to do so. http: mailto: etc are all OK - how can I get it to recognise my new URL protocol as a link.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Looks like RichTextBox is using some predefined constants rather than the registry (I agree, stupid).
Only the following prefix apply:

http:
file:
mailto:
ftp:
https:
gopher:
nntp:
prospero:
telnet:
news:
wais:

If you can however, you can implement your own hyperlinking.

Take a look at the next example:
