AVG Update Failed (Access is forbidden)
Just like the title says: "AVG Update Failed (Access is forbidden)"
Thats what I get when I try to update my workstations here. Both at the workstation and through the AVG admin console.
I have followed an AVG KB article about this issue, but they all go off the assumption that there is a virus present and blocking access to updates. Ive followed those directions and got nowhere. Ive called AVG support probably 5 or 6 times at this point and they want me to run a series of tools to gather information and report it back to them, but that tool is not working on the workstations here for some reason.
Also, I have ran the avg removal tools(which apparently does not uninstall the remote agent, FYI), uninstalled locally and through the admin console, and reinstalled the remote agent and still got nowhere as of now. This is affecting probably 10-15 different workstations.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Yes, I found that one yesterday and gave it a shot. There are two different versions of that rmagent file out there that Ive tried. No luck from either one.
And no, no recent changes to any harware or software.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

AVG is one of the WORST AV's out there. WebrootSpySweeperW/Antivir
VERY LIGHTWEIGHT - VERY EFFECTIVE
It is AMAZING how lightweight... Lightest, Most Effective Antivirus based on SOPHOS I have ever seen. ( http://www.advmolink.com )

There is current a $10.00 OFF coupon for WebrootSpySweeperW/Antivir
are your workstations on a domain?

Somehow I found a workaround/fix. I setup a manual update proxy on the admin console and sent that out to all the workstations I could hit and it started working.
Thanks for the input though guys. Much appreciated.
