"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If this addressee is in fact a true Contact, I would suggest deleting the Contact from Active Directory and re-creating it.

I do not know why "" creates contacts in AD. (Strange policy if you ask me.) The IT manager in that organization has reported problem with the company hosting their exchange servers.
Old thread, but i just got this problem after a migration to office365.
The migration set some weird options on the old exchangeserver.

For me it was that the "External E-mail Address" was gone from the Mail Contact in the Exchange server. So just had to edit the contacts and change the smtp-address to be external.
