PayPal shipping options

I am setting up our online shop with PayPal.

How do I set up different postage costs for different parts of the world?

I have set up the UK charges on the Postage Calculations page of our PayPal account but there doesn't seem to be any room to specify any extra charges depending on where we are sending the items.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I'm not 100% sure with this. But I think, you need to calculate postage directly in your shop application if you want different prices.

What platform of e-commerce application do you use? Because in most cases, it is possible to configure shipping zones and system automaticaly calculate final price and in payment process it will send just final price to paypal.

I am hand-coding the shop... just in html and PHP using paypal's ready made 'add to cart' buttons :-)

ah :), so when you passing the parameter with price to paypal, you need before that add price for shipping to this variable and after that pass final price to paypal.

Btw I recommend for you to use http://www.oscommerce.com/ it's most powerfull free oscommerce system with stock and invoice handling. Everything is made and prepared for use.

hmm... that looks very good. I am going to redesign the whole website in drupal asap so will look at how they fit together.

I will see if my feeble coding is up to the challange!! I was hoping PayPal would have something built in... seems like quite a big gap!!

PayPal can hold simple invoice system. But it's not useable if you need something more specific. On most eshops i have done im using OsCommerce. It's pretty well customizable and lot of plugins are allready done. You should use paypal only for paying not for managing your invoices and clients...
