Bridged VMWARE connection on wifi

Hey Guys,

I have noticed when trying a bridged connection on a VM using vmware server with wifi, it doesn't get a IP.

DO I need to do something specific to enable this or its not possible?

What VMware? What host? Where is the wireless NIC?

I have a Windows 7 Pro host with a wireless NIC, VMware Workstation V7 and a bunch of VM's. I can put any of them in Bridged mode and get an IP from the external DHCP source.

I think there may be an issue if your wireless IS the external device and if it has a private IP (so no DHCP server external to your host). In this case, try putting a router in front of the wireless.

Also, Bridged mode looks for an external DHCP. NAT mode provides its own DHCP to the host. If NAT works, it is completely fine to use NAT. .... Thinkpads_User
with vmware server i have had issues with auto bridge, assign the wifi to another vmnet in the virtual network editor and take it out of the auto bridge pool.

then attach the virtual machine to that vmnet adaptor instead of the auto bridge.
