access session in content page

I click a link button in my master page and it creates a session variable.
then inside my contentpage there is a datalist and i want to show or hide based on value of session variable.

it seems that session is created after the load of content page because it is not being recognized.

is athere a trick for this to work?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi,

I am not sure if I got your question right, you can try creating a session variable in the link button click event and then you can then access the session variable in the page_load of your content page.

Please clarify further if I didn't understood your question properly.

what you need to do is expose an event from master page and handle that in content page.
so in masterpage link button click
  'set session
  'raise the new exposed event
in content page
'add handler to the event in masterpage
'in the handler databind your datalistview....
