"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It might help if you could provide version information of the operating systems you are connecting from and what you are connecting to. Also, are all the machines fully updated? Here are a few ideas you can try:

Does the computer you are connecting to run Zone Alarm or any other type of non-Microsoft firewall product? If so, try disabling it first to see if that helps. It's very possible that it's related to some security software.

Another possibility is that something else running automatically is causing the problem. I would recommend another approach, which is to go to Start > Run (or Windows Key + R hotkey), type in msconfig in the "Run" box, then click OK. Select the option that says "Selective Startup", then uncheck "Load Startup Items". After you click OK you will need to reboot immediately.
