Update Panel and Multi View

I am looking for some advice.  I am creating a web page to manage inventory items.  I would like to have one page with a multi-view that has views for a new item and edit an existing item. I am not sure if it would be best to wrap the entire multi-view in an update panel or place an update panel in each view.  Does anyone have any advice on which would be best.

Thank you.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

When using the MultiView control only one view at any point in time is rendered. While the ViewState is persisted so you can access the controls/values server-side on postback, only the one view is rendered. Saying this it doesn't matter where you put the UpdatePanel however its less work if you wrap the MultiView rather than each View.

Thank you for the response.  I will wrap it in an update panel.  Again, thank you for your time and consideration.
